Born To Run Tralee Marathon Club would like to congratulate our members Brian O Sé, Marilyn O’Shea, Jim McNeice and Theresa Grimes of Kerry Crusaders on their recent completion of the Belfast2Dublin 105 mile ultra marathon. This was a massive achievement for each of the team who put so much time and training in to preparing for this race, and we are very proud to see Born To Run represented so well at such a prestigious event.
Congratulations also to all of our members who have flown the Born To Run flag at so many events locally and overseas in recent weeks. Credit and thanks also to Optimal Fitness and to Tralee Harriers for running fantastic events in Tralee from the Valentine’s 10 Mile race to the Tralee International marathon, half marathon, 10k and 5k. It is wonderful to have such a variety of running events in our town and we are always happy to support them.
We are also pleased to announce that Born To Run’s new “Couch to 5k” program will start the Tuesday after the May bank holiday weekend. This fully mentored program is free, fun and tailored for those with no previous running experience with the aim of being able to comfortably complete a 5k. We will also be providing a follow-on program to take people to any distance upto and including marathon level if desired once the “Couch to 5k” is completed.
Entry is also open for the Born To Run 40 Mile Ultra and Relay event on 28 July. Single entry as well as relay teams of two and teams of four are available, and early registration is advised to avoid disappointment. For more, visit www.borntorunevents.ie
Born To Run are also proud to announce that this year, we will host our firstfamily fun run with a Halloween theme, taking place on Saturday 20 October. Further details coming soon.
